Utena (Magiabotanica Skin Conditioner)

Post mock exams time to repair all of the acne that was caused from the stress of school. If you been reading my blog for awhile now you would know that I take the "IB" programme which is a pain in the arse and also kills your brain internally and externally. If that wasn't bad enough you also get stressed over the little things in life that used to make you happy, although this could have been caused from the lack of sleep I have been getting I decided to invest into skincare again. Back to basics, I am now limiting the amount of makeup that I wear just so my skin can get better again rather than me covering all my acne scars everyday.
I decided to pick up this product, Im not sure what the name of this product is but what I saw is that it was affordable and cheap, On the back of the bottle you can actually see a girl placing this product on a cotton pad then placing it on her face as a face treatment. Based on my research this claims to have some benefits to the skin, that include "Large-sized lotion combined with adlay extract and 6 types of herb extracts to condition and produce healthy skin. No coloring or mineral oil added. Patch tested."

Ingredients:Adlay Extract, Cornflower extract, Calendula officinalis extract, Roman chamomile extract, Chamomilla recutita extract, Tilia cordata extract, Hypericum perforatum extract.

I have to be honest with you with this review and I had an horrible experience with this product, it burned my skin leaving it red and flakey as well as brought up some now spots in the following morning, even though this was the experience with my skin it doesn't mean that the same would happen with you. Just a reminded I did do a patch test on my skin prior putting it on my face but I had no reaction to it so I proceeded applying it on my face.

I really wished this product would have worked on my skin, because I remember couple years ago I watched michelle phan apply a treating skin lotion onto a cotton pad and applied it on her face and after 8-10 minutes her skin looked so refreshed and soft (not like it wasn't to begin with).

Haul [Summer Glow Edition]

Todays I will share some new products that I recently picked up for the upcoming summer months, I have recently been loving the glowy summer look that is really popular every summer, however since I have always have oiler skin I wasn't too fond of this trend. But ever since using differn gel for my acne my skin has dramatically changed from oily to combination skin.
Products from Left to Right
(Clinique Lid Smoothie, The Face Shop Gold Highlighter Beam, Max Factor Eye Luminizer, Shu Uemura ME Light Gold)

The first product that I picked up was this glittery gold shadow, at first glance this product wasn't that appealing to the eye as it was yellow and I didn't know when would people use a yellow eyeshadow unless it was for a specific look, but after awhile in the store I realised that I it would be a shade just to add some shimmer on to your eyes something minimal and something shimmery on your eyelid making your eyes stand out more and look bigger.

The Second Product that I purchased was this lid smoothie, this basically acts like a primer for the eyes to prevent any shadows from creasing, although I dont wear eyeshadow that often I think this would be great for a summer day out just to add a little sparkle to your eyes when you're out. Although the function of this would be the same as the shadow that i hauled earlier, I think this would be more of a subtle look just for those days where you wear mascara and this shadow on your eyes.

The third product that I bought was this Gold Liquid Highlighter from the face shop, after 2 months of searching for an cheaper alternative highlighter apart from high beam from benefit I stumbled across this highlighter from The face shop, since I didn't want to splurge 300+HKD on a highlighter in comparison to this one which was 100HKD. I usually like to use this to apply on my cheekbones  (3 dots on each cheek bone) I find that I wear this most when I decide to support a matte look.

The last product that I purchased was this eye luminizer, I use this over my "NYX colour corrector"  on a day to day basis and thats the only thing that I wear on my face. This is just to add some brightness and cover up the orangey tones to fake that I had 8+ hours of sleep. I like to apply this in big triangles that also hit my cheekbones to help highlight the upper parts of my face as well as cover my dark circles.
