Skincare Routine + Tips

Hey Everybody!
I was recently requested to do a skincare routine and that is why in this weeks blogpost I am sharing the products and items that I use to keep my skin happy! kinda..., well better than what it looked like couple months back. I am blessed with cystic acne, even though its not all over my face it was targetted in the worst place possible, the nose area. If there are any other tips and tricks that can benefit acne prone skin feel free to share them below to share your knowledge and experiences with others.

Step One: Cleanse
Cleansing your face is one of the most important parts in a skincare regimen, cleansing your face allows your skin to remove all of the dirt and bacteria buildup that has been built up since the last wash. In the past I used to use foaming cleansers, because after I washed my face it felt tight and I thought it was working however I think from this it made my skin more irritated thus causing more breakouts and causing even oiler skin if that makes sense.

Step Two: Tone
A couple months back my dermatologist told me to stop using alcohol toners as it can be really drying to your skin causing it to be more sensitive and prone to dryness. Now I know in the beauty industery toners are used to balance the Ph levels making your skin levels more balanced, this only works if you are using a more natural base toner without alcohol. Since then I have converted to more of an natural toner, the one that I have here is Witch Hazel that is a cooling agent that soothes the skin.

Step Three: Moisturize
In the morning I use this lotion as it is very lightweight and does not clog my pores as it both hydrating to the skin preventing my skin from peeling causing amounts of pain. I like to stick to the simples brand for daytime moisturizer as it provides very good nutrients for your skin.

At night I use the garnier cream with vitamin e as it contains many healing properties that is able to heal acne scars that were caused by growing up and the raising of hormones on that glamorous time of that month. I really think that this product really helps fade my acne scars that I have on my nose that was caused by cystic acne, this also doesnt irratate my skin which is definetly another plus for this product.

Step Four: Sunscreen
Sunscreen is an important factor to prevent long term damage to your skin that can cause many harmful properties to your skin. I have to admit I hardly use sunscreen thus the amount of dark spots on my skin, I am determined to apply sunscreen on days where I am exposed to sunlight for long periods of time.

Step Five: Acne Treatment
Before I went to see a dermatologist, I relyed on over the counter acne treatements for example: tea tree oil and benzoyl peroxide. However with the acne that I was dealing with which were deep in to my skin needed to be treated with something much stronger that can target bacteria deep under the skin tissue. The product that I was given was clindoxyl gel. I used to use a range of different products at the same time, but I never finished a product fully. I have learnt that you don't actually see the benefits unless you use the product over a long period of time.

One of the most important steps is to exfoliate your face, especially if you have oily skin this will help get rid of the dead skin cells giving you soft and supple skin. I think this was very important when I suffered cystic acne because it prevented the clogging of pores causing an infection in my skin, and this product also contains salicylic acid which is really efficient to dry out ongoing acne that is on your skin.

Step Seven: LipBalm
Moisturising your lips is an another important step as it can represent proper hydration and youth. One of the lipbalms/butters that I have enjoyed so far is the nivea/labello lip butter as it is very moisturising and also smells amazing. I really like nivea products in general, this product is alsmost half way down and I only got it at the end of last year, I think it is a must try for people who have easily chapped lips

Neutrogena Visibly Clear

Welcome Back!

I'm back at school after 2 weeks of easter holidays, in my school we have been introduced to about 3 assessments that is due in the early weeks of may, oh great... They also told us that we would have an exam week during the last week of May as well. (I am truely excited). And topping it off we have to attend exhibition showing our personal projects (a year long project that is very time consuming) next week thursday... The good thing is that in 10 weeks we begin summer holidays, and I will be going to England for the first time!

From these events that have been occuring, I started to break-out due to stress caused by school work given to me in the first week. However usually when I do break out due to stress, I would use this mask (Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 wash & mask), you can click (Neutrogena Visibly Clear Wash Mask 77237) to purchase it. This face mask claims to "The convenience of a refreshing wash and a deep cleansing mask, in one. Daily wash: Clears pores and fights spots. 5-minute weekly mask: Natural clay absorbs excess oil and softens skin. " I really like to use this as I think that it does a really good job of cleaning my pores and killing bacteria on my skin, usually after a couple days of using this product I can definetly see a difference in my skin! :)

Photo Diary
Hello Everybody!
Today I bring you some relaxing images of scenery and shots of nature. In this post I will be showing you my recent hike that I did with Emily! We actually decided to do some hiking, because, excerise is known to calm our mind and soul. I think this is really important, especially because school can stress us out easily (this can give us an environment to relax and see the beauty of life, because sometimes we need to have an escape from social media). Hope you guys enjoy! until next week for my next post!

This hike was accompanied with Emily, Check out her blog here
The musing dysaniac is a creative lifestyle blog that was created by emily. In her blogposts, she writes about a range of topics that include lifestyle, beauty and photography. I highly reccomend you guys to check out her blog, because she is dedicated with giving out good content to her viewersss.
Photos are taken by Emilys camera (Nikon D5100) and My camera (Nikon D5300)

Gazebo lookout point
It was actually emily's first time hiking up here to the gazebo, she did pretty well for the first time hiking up the steep hill and steep steps, so this is the view of the lookout point. The morning that we hiked up was like Hong Kong's practically winter temperature, it was actually supposed to start spring couple days ago however it just went colder and it was really weird and awkward as I accidently almost went out in shorts.

Lookout Podium
This is the lookout podium, this is a podium located couple feet higher than where we were, this can be accessed through the steep stairs that are made with rocks. Many people who live in this island like to take photos on top of the podium to look like they're on top of the world whilst feeling the breeze. However Emily and I were too afraid to climb up the podium as it was wet and really windy when we were hiking up here :/

This is the reservoir, this is where Emily and I took selfies and really deep photos of ourselves looking out to the view of the reservoir. We spent like a good 30mins here just chillin talking about life, as it was like the perfect area (because it had the breeze and many rocks to sit on).
