Haul [Lush Edition]

I actually never go to lush, unless there is a purpose to do so. After seeing a lot of lush lip scrubs on my bloglovin feed this month, I decided to go out purchase it. I know for a fact that we would always have accidental buys that we may not have planned to buy, thats bad in certain cases as you may be spending unnecessarily money, however sometimes its good as you can try new products that can help find what you like best.

I picked up 4 bath bombs from lush, I hear a lot about how lush bath bombs are the best, as they are both high quality, leaves skin feeling amazing, and smelling amazing, therefore I decided to try these out.
Starting off with the product that I went to lush to purchase first, is this lip scrub in "Mint Julips". I am not really a big fan of the other scents of the lipscrubs as they smelts very artificial and seemed like a product that I may get sick of really quickly. I will soon be posting a review on the overall product, and will give you my thoughts and opinions on the product, so stay tuned!

Moving on to lush bath bombs, I picked up 4 unique smelling bath bombs that look very tumblry looking in the water. Here is an overview of them below, I will be using their website description, to describing the scent of these products below, as I am not really good with describing scents.

Twilight
Product Description:
To round off the night-embracing effects of this experience, the fragrance is based around the comforting smell of a malty night-time drink With lavender and tonka oils at the heart, there are also notes of caramel and malt to enhance a sense of comfort and reassurance. She’ll pick you up, will Ovaltina :-)

Space Girl
Product Description:
With blasts of sparkles and refreshing grapefruit oil, Space Girl is a Bath Bomb of astronomical proportions. You’ll be ready to explore the cosmos (bath time) in a trail of purple stardust. We put real popping candies into each one to add some pop to our signature fizz. Shaped like Saturn, the energizing scent of blackcurrant candies will make you hungry for your own space adventures as you soak away in the tub. It’s really out of this world.

Blackberry
Product Decription:
One of the first LUSH Bath Bombs invented, Blackberry appeared way back in 1989 in Mo Constantine’s laboratory (otherwise known as her garden shed). It's one of our most beloved and popular balls of fizz. When you’re feeling off color and out of sorts, detonate one of these classic fruity numbers into your tub for a relaxing soak into a shimmering, purple haze. A burst of fruity fragrance, uplifting bergamot and frankincense surround you like a cozy blanket dissolving all of your cares away.

Rose Queen
Product Description:
We thought it was time for a new floral Bath Bomb so we designed the Rose Queen. Full of blossoms, petals and a sensuous new rose fragrance, this one is a splendid, sophisticated bomb fit for a queen. When LUSH co-founder and Bath Bomb inventor Mo first dropped one of these in a tub to show everyone her latest invention, she asked if there were enough petals. Everyone said they thought there was plenty, but Mo went ahead and put lots more in to really spoil us!

Overall, I am excited to try out these products out over the next couple of weeks. I am most excited to try out the lip scrub as I like to focus most of my makeup drawn to the lips and eyes. Therefore I want to improve on the overall health and appearance of my lips, so this can improve the overall outcome of my makeup!

Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion +

What I heard about this product (clinique moisturizing lotion) is very famous on the youtube platform, and have heard endless amount of reviews and raving of beauty bloggers saying how much they like this product and how they cannot live without it. From the clinique website, I found out that this product does an amazing job of clearing skin, and helps make a difference in peoples skin (expecially with people with acne-prone skin).

This product comes in a little pumped up container, to prevent any bacteria collection inside of the container. I must say you have to be very careful with this packaging as one pump of this lotion can really pump out way too much product, from a fellow oily skin person a little goes a LONG way, just half a pump of this product is enough to distribute all over your face and neck.

I was also told that this lotion was very similar to my beloved simples lotion, since you cant get this lotion here in Hong Kong, I immediently purchased this to see whether it lives up to my expectations. This is more of an expensive version of the cheap drugstore alternative.

I had to justify this product based on the price, the original prices of this product is about $600-700HKD, however there was a sale on the whole clinique products in SASA, therefore I only got this 500ml product for about $250HKD
The product itself is very liquidy and I would really reccommend this product for people who wants their skin to be intensly moisturized, I think for this particular one I would not reccommend for people with oily skin especially in the summer time this would make you look like a grease ball, however I think this lotion would be very useful for a light-weight winter lotion. I think for the oily skin people out there (aka, me) I think the product that would be best for you guys would be an oil-free gel lotion.

16!

+27th September 2015+
Profesh Photo Diary
Todays Blogpost I thought I would share how I celebrated my 16th birthday!,  These photos shown in the blogpost today are a few photos taken on my camera, I will be my very first what I got for my birthday sometime in the next 3 weeks, fyi it is not to boast or anything, but more of sharing and keeping the memories of what I recieved from my friends and family.

I actually celebrated my birthday a day before since the 27th of September in Hong Kong is a public holiday.
AN OVERVIEW of my bdaybash:
I invited a couple of my closest friends from my old school to a birthday lunch (pepper lunch is sooooo good), then one of my friends made me a cake, so they sung the song to me and I blew out the candle then distributed the cake amongst us (I am very thankful for all the friends that I have made in my school, and I hope that I will keep in touch with them). We then headed off to disney and we had a really good time just hanging out and having fun as a squad <3

Stay

-looking to the future-
Couple weeks ago I posted about my emotional breakdown, That was a different type of post for me. If you want to check out that blog post I will link it right here, that will give you a basic understanding of what i was feeling in the new school. I didnt actually think anyone would really give in the time into commenting on the blogposts saying how they felt the same way when they were in new surroundings, and how they overcame it over time. It felt really nice that you guys would give in the time to support me and give advice based on this, I really appreciate you guys from this.

So continuing off this blog post, I have come to the decision that I will not be moving school, mainly for the fact that I've come this far and commited so much into the new school. As well as I'm probably behind in school working my old school, as they have been doing the ib for over a month longer than i have, and also thinking that I might have to go through the same process again when I go to university. I think this is a really good learning experience as I can really experience some new life lessons I wouldn't have known about before as I've had been staying in the same school for 12 years.
Though I may not have the most amount of friends currently, it is not the quantity that you have to, the more of the quality of the type of friends that you've make new environment. I think I came into this situation thinking that I can just make new friends that can be lifelong friends in under a week, like what I have seen new students in my old school, however what I've learned from this new experience is that you actually take the time to get to know each other, and see whether this friend can give a positive impact on your life.

Having my full 10 day cycle in my new school I've understood that some of the teachers can be good if you're paying attention in class, and the teachers really value of the information that you're taking from their lessons, this can really benefit you when you're taking the exams at the end of the year. Overall teachers do really care about what you get and have at the end of the day, and they really try their best to prepare you for the assessments and exams that you will be taking at the end of the year, and overall I think after this I need to look at different things in a much more brighter and positive aspect and perspective. I am really trying now, though I may not be as comfortable like in my old school, I need to learn to adapt to new situations.

Lush's Herbalism

Todays blogpost is about this lush product that I recently purchased, this is actually the second time I have used this product. The first time didnt really go that well, August 2014, I recieved a sample of this in my mail and decided to try it out. Over the span of 2 weeks a cyst popped up, maybe because I used it 2 times a day for 2 weeks but I thought it was weird because they advised me to use it day and night every day. After I experienced this cyst, I immediently threw the rest of the sample away (there was actually maybe 2 more uses out of it).

That December I found out that I had combination skin, I always thought I just oily skin and always used foam cleansers to clean the skin and using harsh chemicals like alcohol toner and harsh scrubs just made my skin even worse. Since then I have changed into a more natural skincare routine, check out my blog post that I did couple months back about my skincare routine (right here)
Now that I think back to that time, that cyst went away faster than any other one that I have had. So a week ago, I decided to give herbalism another try! And here are my thoughts and opinions on this product.

The only time that I use this cleanser is when I am in the shower usually on the weekend when I exfoliate and shave my legs. I cant say that I can see a difference in my skin apart from seeing tiny little bumps on my surface of my skin, however I do think that I have to give it time to see a difference, as some people say that this product allows pimples to be raised up and prevent new ones from forming. Another factor that I'm not that annoyed at but to some people they find the smell disgusting, I honestly think it smells like grass and nature, I dont really mind it but it is sometimes very refreshing to relax in.

Overall I dont think this product is a miracle worker for acne-prone skin, but I think it does take time to notice a difference some peoples experience lead to (evening of skintone, removing excess oil, clearing small bumps, etc.), i'm only in my second week using it once a week as an exfoliant to prevent clusters of acne or even worse a cyst.

ps- 5 days till my birthday!!! (27th September)

Breakdown

-the truth on being new student-
I am not usually that type of person to post any negative stuff on my blog, because I am not that into having and keeping negative vibes on my blog, however since this is a blog where I can express my feelings in my current situation, I just need to let all my thoughts in my brain to get out. And because this is kinda where I can store and capture memories that I have, i might as well add this in making sure in the future I remember what I went through.
I am a optimistic person let me just say, I will keep this post very simple by saying..
I'm am sad, not in a way where I hate everything in life, but more like I hate how I am feeling so negative in life, I have tried to lift myself up by looking at funny memories that I had in my old school (however, this just made me feel worse than I actually am feeling). Maybe in the future I would share what I experienced during the past couple weeks, but as of right now I will just be doing a run through. You dont know how many times I faked a smile these past few weeks, the first couple of times it was geniune, however it quickly faded to a forced smile and making it feel like a chore, I have realised that these people around me are not those friends that have a loving or caring soul, it almost feels like they have no sense of feeling.

Yes, I have stepped out of my comfort zone by going to a new school, and I was all for it, but I dont think I thought ahead of time how tough it would be (as I was in the same school for my whole life, and was only the new student once starting from primary school). I actually couldnt wait to leave my new school, because of the limited CAS oppertunities, bad teachers (and i can list out at least 10 bad teachers) everything else I could deal with. Looking back now I actually see more bad things in my current school than my old school, we have couple bad teachers here and there, compulsory sports activities where you compete with other students (my school is known for being an area with a strong sense of community, in my opinion it isnt the whole entire houses are filled with little clicks, I dont think thats a definition of a well loved community), no exit passes (where you can leave the school if you have a free block in the last block), etc.

I know that I have only been at this school for almost a short time I will give it another week making it almost a month before I finalise my decision of moving back. But the truth is, I rather be in an environment where it uplifts my spirit making me want to work harder towards my goals in life, than in a place where it keeps me limited in a certain way that makes me dwell on decisions.

Maybelline Nudes Palette

Todays blogpost is about this Maybelline "The Nudes" Palette, I will be doing a quick review on this palette contains 12 eyeshadows that have some shimmery and matte shades. This palette does come with a small brush tip applicator that actually came really handy when I was on holiday and I forgot to pack my brushes, this allowed me to pack on the shades and smudge my eyeliner, but apart from that not that much use now, so I store those makeup applicators in a drawer to use for traveling (so I dont have to clean my brushes overseas!).

I have heard people not being happy with the packaging of the product, however for the price that we pay for this product which is about 9 pounds in comparison to naked palettes that usually range from (23-38 Pounds) I think you should just be happy for what you get for the price that you spent on it. It would have been nice to see a mirror in this palette so I can take it on the go and apply my makeup on the go without a compact mirror, but overall I dont mind the acrylic packaging.
The shade choices of these products have a good range of shimmery and matte shadows, perfect for different occasions (for example; formal events, date night, everyday makeup, etc). Some of the shades do lack pigmentations and may not be as buttery smooth as other eyeshadows, however if you are a beginner in makeup, like me when I first picked up this palette it is good to learn about how to apply shadows before investing in a more high-end product.

Summer Beauty Favorites

Todays blogpost is about my current beauty favorites that I would like to share with you guys, as summer is rapidly coming to an end its time to reflect on my most used summer beauty items this summer. Below shows an image of what products I will be mentioning in this blogpost! lets get started :)

The first product that I have been loving is aloe vera gel, not that many people know this but I have to say that I cannot live without this product. Maybe its the fact that I do notice a change in my skin and the taming of my eyebrows. According to my research and my experience aloe vera actually makes your eyebrows grow out stronger and thicker, so this is a really helpful tip for people who overpluck their eyebrows (pshh. me)

The maybelline nudes palette is a beautiful palette that contains 12 eyeshadows that are very natural looking, perfect for every day use. After using it for a couple of weeks I found a look that I really like wearing out using this palette!, comment below if you want to see my everyday eye makeup look :)

I have actually been using this simples lotion for a long time, almost 1 and a half years now. This is my holy grail lotion, as it is not heavy or too light for the skin. A bonus to this product is that it doesnt break out your skin (at least for mine it hasnt and I have combination skin). Since my face is oily and dry and easily irratated, I rely on this product to balance my skin pH levels.

I purchased this oil in the beginning of summer when I was in the UK doing a summer camp, since I didnt bring a hair oil to this summer camp my hair was crazy (it was frizzy, puffy and dry, maybe because of the weather and the hard water that they have). Anyways this really helped add moisture back into my hair, and another positive thing about this product is that it comes in an spray form so you dont have to apply to your hands and have greasy hands for the rest of the day!!!

Haul [School Edition]

School is back...
Today I am sharing the IB supplies that I have purchased couple weeks ago in preperation for the IB programme, I understand that some people don't like these kind of posts however this is a lifestyle blog, and the IB is now an important factor of my life therefore I need to share this into my blog!

So the first note books that I purchased are from cotton on, I really like purchasing my notebooks from cotton on because not only are they cheap but they are also really fat with empty lined pages for me to write in. The downfall of this is, without proper care the rings of the ring-notebooks can easilybend and start to break away the pages. To protect this over the two years, I will be inserting these books in my binders shown lower in the blogpost!
(Subjects using these textbooks from Left to Right: English | Buisness | Technology | Geography)
The second notebooks that I purchased is from a local stationary shop, this is from the company Gambol, I have been using them for years and they are very durable and long-lasting, however they are a bit pricy for how much pages you actually get.
(Subjects using these textbooks from Left to Right: Mandarin | Math Study Book)

I repurposed my brothers old ring binders that survived after the IB, since I have 6 subjects I have 5 ring binders that can be used for all subjects. For subjects that require more paper work and more handouts given out, I have a clear pocket binder to hold loose paper that may need to be referred back to frequently.

This is my math Notebook, this notebook is also from a local stationary shop, however this comes from a brand called Papyrus, this is a square notebook to do math in (duh.) I usually go through 2 a year, so im guessing 4 math notebooks during ib?

A book that isnt shown in here is my mandarin book, as I currently cant find one I think I may need to purchase one at the schools stationary shop, I can actually use the one from my old school, but it has my old schools name written BIG.

I'M READY!

Boujour Bronzer+Highlighter

From my recent trip to the UK, I picked up a ton load of makeup that I want to play with in the next couple of weeks. After staying in boots for a total of 45 Minutes I settled for a bronzer from the company "Boujour", I wanted to try out this 2 in one product where it contains a bronzer and a highlighter. Even though in Hong Kong you can also get this UK company, however you cannot get this specific type of product that is very well known in the blogging and youtube community.

This product contains 16G of product, the price I paid for this was about 4 pounds as I got 3 products (2 Bronzer+Highlighter, and one Bronzer) for 12 pounds (Buy 3 for 2), overall I think this was a steal because according to boots this product sells for 7 pounds each.
The overall packaging of this product is very cute,  the product opens up like a little booklet, and on first glance it reminded me of a chocolate bar. As you can see half of the palette is a highlighter and the other side is a bronzer. I actually really like the packaging as this prevents the product from shattering as it is not a acrylic packaged product, on my flight back to Hong Kong.

The pigmentation of this product is quite pigmented as you can see in the photo, I was actually really suprised from this and have now understanded the hype of this product. Both of these products are very buttery and easy to blend in with your makeup or bare skin, and when settled look very natural and does not accentuate the pores on your face.

To apply the bronzer part of the palette, I like to use an angled blush brush, then making the fishy face I apply this product in circular and short brush strokes into the hollows of my cheeks. I think this makes my face much more defined and make it not look 2D and more 3D in photos, I think this is very important part of makeup as you are contantly creating memories through photographs and this is what I do to feel confidient when I go out.

To apply the highlighter, I really like using my fingers to apply the highlighter as it looks more natural glow on the cheekbones, in comparison to using a brush that applies it in the area and not on the high points of the face if that makes sense. I dont use the highlighter that much as I have naturally oily skin, and using a highlighter actually accentuates my oily skin.

Overall I think this (bronzing) product is definelty a go √ product, as well as the highlighter if you dont have oily skin like me, as this can accentuate the oilyness of your face, however the bronzer applies more shape and dimension that adds that summer glow!

Haul [Summer Edition]

Hi Everybody!
Today I bring a haul blog post on my blog, this blogpost is based off my purchase from a month ago and I have only had the time to write about it now, in this haul I will be showing you some items that I picked up from the stores [H&M, Bershka, Stradivarius] I hope you guys enjoy the post and the clothing pieces that I picked up couple weeks back!

I never actually owned a romper in my life, so I made sure that this summer I picked up my very own romper at H&M at the price of (150HKD). This romper is very differnt and unique in its own way as it does not have the cutouts that rompers usually have, however has the classic vshape cut with lace detailings on the top as well as the bottom of the shorts. I havent worn this out yet however I am thinking that I will be wearing this to an formal event for my summer camp celebration as it can be very comfy and will not be flashin anyone as this has a pair of shorts attached.

I never been a fan of crop tops as they were really tight and showed a lot of skin when worn, I went to bershka and picked up these two crop tops at (75HKD Each). I picked up a burgandy shade and a classic black crop top, since I thought that this would match a maxi skirt or a pencil skirt that I have in my closet, since I only own patterned items and not that many basic tee's I decided I would go ahead and purchase some of these basic items.

This is a track sole platform sandals that I purchased for prom is from stradivarius, and might I say it was very comfortable and easy to walk in, although it is very high 5inches I have to say after you stand up in the shoe was very easy to walk in. This shoe was reasonably affordable, taking topshop in comparison which may sell this product for almost double the price I think this shoe was a steal for the price that I paid for which was (449HKD). The shoe overall did not leave any blisters like other friends that I know, however my feet did hurt when wearing this to prom because A) I did not break them in and B) because I did a lot of dancing and jumping during the hours of prom 4hrs.

Summertime Smoothie

Hello Everybody!
Today I will be continuing my Snack series. I will be sharing a recipe that is perfect for summer days as this is a total refreshment for those summer heat waves, I know if you live where I am its actually hot even if there is no heat wave. This is for those people who really like using frozen fruit from supermarkets, and if you dont use frozen fruit all you have to do is put your fruit into the freezer before you make this recipe!

So the ingredients that you will need for this recipe is some berries (I used blueberries and cherries, but feel free to use whatever you have at home), an optional fruit is a banana to add some texture to the juice, in comparison to the averge liquidy juices that you can get from the supermarket. Another optional item is to add some ice to make it an instant refresher drink that is perfect for chilling by the pool on an hot sunny day!
I put some cherries and blueberries together, I remember to take all the pips out of the cherries as you dont want to be drinking the juice and come accross some pips from the cherries. I actually really like the taste of these fruits blended together as it gives a slight taste of drinking strawberries, and its weird but I really do like it as it is different from the classics (apple juice, watermelon juice, green juice, etc.)
For the optional items that you can add to the drink, I would reccommend to break the banana in pieces for it to be easily blended in the drink and would not leave clumps that can make the drink not as smooth when puring and drinking out of an cup. As for the ice, I would reccomend adding it last to have that slushy texture in comparison to the beginning as it could melt by the time you finish making this drink.

Are you guys ready for summer?
